The 44th edition of the International Contemporary Art Fair (FIAC) will take place from October 19th to 22nd, 2017, in the lovely surroundings of the Grand Palais. This is a great opportunity to discover the current artistic trends and add to your collection!
An unmissable event for art lovers
Since 1974, FIAC de Paris has helped to highlight the work of contemporary artists. The fair invites contributors to display their works for the scrutiny of the public passing through the splendour of the Grand Palais. Naturally, the organisers reserve plenty of exhibition space for the most prestigious and noteworthy galleries from around the world. But the up and coming galleries and their young artists are certainly not neglected and a selection of these are placed in the spotlight every year. You’ll be able to appreciate the latter by discovering the Lafayette Sector, which is dedicated to emerging talent.
On Site and Hors les Murs; FIAC innovations
As of 2016, the FIAC organisers decided to add two notable exhibition spaces to the event: the Petit Palais and the Avenue Winston-Churchill, which connects the Grand and the Petit Palais sites. Here, On Site presents sculptures of unusual dimensions set against a sumptuous backdrop. At the same time, Hors les Murs (Outside the Walls) offers artistic works displayed in public spaces and prestigious Parisian institutions. The Cour Carré du Louvre, Jardin des Tuileries, Musée Delacroix and Place Vendôme are among the places where you can discover these. Such public spaces also serve as places for discussion, projection of audio-visual works, and performances.
FIAC. From October 19th to 22nd at the Grand Palais, midday to 20:00. Please note: The Platine Hotel is a just few metres from the RER, which will take you to the Grand Palais.
