Paris as a seaside resort
Categories : Visit Paris, published on : 7/1/23
For 21 years, Paris has taken on the characteristics of a seaside resort as soon as summer arrives. Paris Plages (Paris Beaches) returns from July 8th to August 27th for a new season, offering many activities and islands of fresh tranquillity at the edge of the water. Discover the summery and relaxed atmosphere of Paris Plages during your stay at the Platine Hotel.
Activities for all tastes
Paris Plages brings the summer holidays to the heart of the city. Deckchairs on the sand, parasols, palm trees and mulberry trees, designated bathing areas... Nothing is missing from the seaside resort vibe. It is also an opportunity to learn about and try out various water-based pastimes and sports, including kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, Hawaiian canoe, pedal boats, kayak polo and more. Children can have their own version of summer fun with the Ludos Plages, featuring games, trampolining, climbing walls, workshops and events. Finally, a pop-up library means that everyone can get hold of a good book to enjoy while relaxing in the sun or shade.
Three locations, three ambiances
Paris Plages is spread across three sites. The Bassin de la Villette, in the north of Paris, mainly hosts nautical activities. You’ll also find several supervised swimming pools and paddling pools for the little ones. On the Left Bank towards the Pont Alexandre III, not far from the Platine Hotel, the emphasis is on relaxation and fun activities, sandcastles and table football. Finally, the Jardins du Trocadéro host board games, books, exhibitions and various sports related to the Paris 2024 Olympics. Access to these sites is completely free.
Whether you take a quick break in a deckchair or spend whole days with your feet in the water, Paris Plages has something summery to offer you. The Platine Hotel team will give you all the information you need to make the most of it!
